The wild part is that as I understand it (which is not well,) all that language- Lord, King, Master- was all added by the Romans. In the original Aramaic, the words Jesus used to describe himself translate to “Friend” and occasionally “teacher.” But during the Constantinian Revolution, the Romans added all this hyper-dominating, hierarchial language to twist the teachings to support hierarchical authoritarian systems. And now people who claim to follow Jesus are out here yelling that he is King, without ever seeing the irony.
