Sometimes I drift off into my thoughts and remember this moment. My daughter Celine was so happy, holding the phone with joy, looking at her picture and smiling with the innocence of a child. In just one moment, everything changed. A nearby explosion was heard, and that happiness turned into deep fear. Her heart filled with terror, and she rushed toward the tent calling for her mother. When I remember this scene, I wonder: How many little girls around the world have experienced the same feeling? How many innocent children, who have done nothing wrong, have tasted fear and pain because of wars and conflicts? How many young hearts have been filled with terror instead of safety and happiness? And who is responsible for children living this way? Who is responsible for childhoods being taken away in a world that is supposed to protect them? A world that sometimes seems too cruel to describe? My daughter Celine is just one simple example among millions of children who face fear every day. 💔💔
