beacsue the human body is so difficult and every disease so different is IMPOSSIBLE for a human person to know EVERYTHING super detailed. so i’m super pro the subspecialitations

We already have pulmonologists who specialize in right ventricles that cardiologists refer patients to

as medical research grows, the requisite knowledge floor to enter the field raises exponentially, to fight this, you can start broad eith med school and then specialize in a manageable size of normal human a&p, patho, and medicine. As somekne who expects the best standadd of care, id much rather someone highly specialized

The more we learn about the body and the more medicine develops the more common this will be. Our capacity as humans stays the same even though our collective knowledge expands. It’s a good thing!

its annoying but also very reassuring, like id rather see a bunch of different doctors but know that each one of them is very experienced in what theyre doing abd giving me the best care possible since they only specialize in one thing.

As annoying as it is, after being dismissed about stuff and then going to a specialist and them being like “oh yeah it’s this” within 5 mins was nice.

at least it means they are can remember and understand their specialization sooo much better, making them more trustworthy

Exactly the human body is far too complex for one person to comprehend and specialise in

That is so becoming true. As a nurse it's very frustrating when NONE of these specialists talk to one another and no one makes any damn progress for the patients

I was just telling my sister that you have to see an OB for pregnancy but when it’s complicated then you have to see the SUPER OB (maternal fetal medicine) for Pregnancy care alongside the regular OB
