Kamal al-Haydari is an Iraqi Shiite religious authority born in Karbala in 1956. He grew up in a religious environment and studied at the seminary. Al-Haydari faced numerous attacks, harsh criticism, insults, and slander due to his bold and unprecedented views, such as his critique of historical matters familiar to Muslims. These views, like the permissibility of religious pluralism and the prioritization of human values over religious ones, were considered strange and new and were often misunderstood.
