Because of that success, many players feel disappointed that the amount of Primogems given every patch has barely changed over the years. Even in major updates, the total rewards often stay around the equivalent of only 60 pulls, which feels low compared to many other modern gacha games that regularly give larger rewards, free summons, and more generous anniversary or major patch events. Veteran players especially understand how difficult it is to save for limited characters in Genshin. Most free-to-play and low-spending players are forced to plan months ahead just to guarantee one character they truly want. In the process, they often skip multiple meta units, favorite characters, or fun team compositions simply because the game’s currency income is too limited. This creates a feeling that players are not pulling for who they love anymore, but instead are constantly pressured to make “efficient” decisions to avoid wasting months of savings. Another issue is how newer characters and reactions are becoming increasingly restrictive. Many recent characters are designed to work best only with very specific teammates, limited reactions, or new mechanics, which makes older characters feel forgotten or left behind. Instead of improving or buffing older units to keep the roster healthy and balanced, the game often pushes players toward pulling newer limited characters just to fully experience the newest playstyles. This can make team-building feel less creative and more locked behind specific banners. What frustrates many players is that HoYoverse likely understands that the community will continue playing regardless of the low rewards because players have already become used to the system. Over time, saving Primogems for months, skipping banners, and accepting minimal rewards has become almost like a routine habit for veteran players. Many feel that the company has started taking advantage of this loyalty, knowing that even small rewards are enough to keep people logging
