SUNDAY RICE EPISODE 13 | Chinese Chicken Stir Fry with Rice Be honest, what’s that ONE vegetable you always pick out of your stir-fry INGREDIENTS For the Chicken Marinade * 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (500 to 600 g) * 1 tbsp soy sauce * 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine * 1 tbsp cornstarch * ¼ tsp white pepper For the Stir-Fry Sauce * 1 tbsp soy sauce * 2 tbsp oyster sauce * 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine * 1 tsp toasted sesame oil * 1 tsp sugar * 2 tsp cornstarch * ¼ tsp white pepper * ½ cup (120 ml) water or unsalted chicken stock Vegetables & Aromatics * ½ red bell pepper * ½ green bell pepper * 1 medium onion * 1 carrot * 4 garlic cloves, minced * 1 tbsp grated ginger * 2 tbsp cooking oil * Chili flakes, optional For the Rice * 2 cups golden sella basmati rice * Water, as needed * Pinch of salt INSTRUCTIONS 1. Cut the vegetables into thin strips. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. 2. Slice the chicken into bite sized pieces. Add the marinade ingredients, mix well, and leave to marinate for 10 to 15 minutes. 3. Combine all the stir fry sauce ingredients in a bowl, mix until smooth, and set aside. 4. Rinse the rice and cook with water and a pinch of salt according to the package instructions. 5. Heat a wok or large pan over high heat. Add the cooking oil and chicken. Stir fry until nicely browned and almost cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan. 6. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger. Stirfry briefly until fragrant, then add the carrots. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. 7. Add the bell peppers and stir fry for about a minute. 8. Give the prepared sauce another stir, then pour it into the pan. Toss everything together as the sauce thickens. Add chili flakes if you like a little heat. 9. Continue cooking until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce is thick and glossy. Serve hot with your fluffy rice and enjoy! #sundayrice #kikifoodies

If your goal is firmer, more defined arms, doing hundreds of random arm exercises isn’t the answer. 💗💪 First: arm softness is completely normal. Where your body stores fat is influenced by genetics, hormones and overall body composition. You also can’t choose exactly where fat comes off first — so there’s no workout that specifically “burns arm fat.” What you can do is build the muscle underneath while reducing overall body fat if needed. That combination can gradually create a stronger, firmer and more defined appearance. For training, put most of your attention on your triceps, shoulders, biceps, chest and back. Some great movements to build around are: • Tricep pushdowns — 3×12–15 • Overhead tricep extensions — 3×10–12 • Lateral raises — 3×15 • Rear delt flyes — 3×12 • Hammer curls — 3×10–12 • Shoulder presses — 3×8–10 • Dumbbell rows — 3×10–12 • Incline push-ups — 3×8–12 You don’t need to do every exercise every session. Pick a handful, train with good form, and progressively make them harder over time by adding a little weight, completing more reps, improving your range of motion or using better control. And don’t forget the nutrition side. 🍓🥑🍳 Regular protein-rich meals help provide the building blocks your body needs to maintain and build muscle. Think Greek yogurt + berries, chicken + rice + vegetables, salmon + potatoes, eggs + sourdough, lean meat, fish, cottage cheese, tofu or whatever protein sources fit your diet. If losing body fat is part of your goal, a sustainable calorie deficit matters more than trying to eliminate specific foods. You can’t spot-reduce your arms, but gradually reducing overall body fat while strength training can make the muscle you’re building more visible. The formula is pretty simple: Strength training + progressive overload + enough protein + appropriate calories + patience. Not detoxes. Not 100 arm circles every morning. Not starving yourself. And definitely not expecting your body to change in seven days. Give yourself weeks and months to get stronger. The goal isn’t just smaller arms — it’s building a stronger body and habits you can actually maintain. 🫶 📲 Workit App — follow workouts, track your fitness and nutrition, and stay consistent with your goals all in one place.
