In this documentary episode, we revisit the 1982 invasion: how Israel reached Beirut in just days, the real objectives behind the operation, and the local actors who facilitated it. From the siege of Beirut and the PLO’s withdrawal, to the election and assassination of Bashir Gemayel, and finally the Sabra and Shatila massacre and the role of U.S. guarantees. An episode that unpacks one of the most critical periods in Lebanon’s history and asks a key question: if we want to understand today, we must first understand what happened in 1982.
