Song of Solomon was…interesting. This is my third time reading the Bible in a year and this book always feels out of place…a collection of love poems in the middle of Scripture. I’m learning that some of the shortest or simplest-looking books in the Bible aren't shallow at all…they’re usually invitations to dig beneath the surface…and require multiple reads. Love is often portrayed as something that happens to us, something we either feel or don't. To me, Song of Solomon is a declaration that real love is much more than emotion. Feelings ebb and flow, seasons change, beauty fades, circumstances shift. But love, the kind God designed, isn't sustained by butterflies. It's sustained by choice..by pursuit… by faithfulness…by continuing to say,

The same God who doesn't stop loving His people when they're difficult to love. The same God who pursues, remains faithful, and keeps His promises. The books that seem the smallest often ask the biggest questions.
