This is why the devs from the past are legends. Now the hardware is much more forgiving and you can get away without optimisations and with many memory leaks.

in vice city even the city was split into smaller parts. my first computer had 64mb vram and it usually froze for a second in certain places after upgrading to GPU with 128mb vram it was smooth
