@sierra_zagarri: Trying to decide if this is a simple DIY fix… or the beginning of my villain origin story 😭 Apparently all the peel and stick baseboards in the playroom have collectively decided their time here is done. Vulnerable business owner post… what do I even do here? 😅 #SmallBusiness #playroom #grandmasplayroom #businessowner #DIY

Shouldn’t the landlord fix this? Or do you own the space?

They're plastic? Check for water damage. It looks like they're glued and the glue has dried out, or they got wet. Also when your carpets got done, did they steam them?

I would say if they steamed your carpets that’s the issue it weakened the glue. This happened to the day center my clients attend after having the carpets steam cleaned. They were able to just recaulk or glue them back down I’m pretty sure.

I work for a flooring company. you should be able to reglue the sections that are falling off using cove or wall base adhesive. you can find them at most hardware stores. the bottles should provide instructions as well.

yes this is something you can do. it looks like the glue is done for. you buy it in a roll cut to size and apply to clean area. apply pressure. its not ment to last its the cheap fix.

Architectural designer here. The adhesive has deteriorated and needs to be readhered. You shouldn’t have to buy new. But i would recommend you do to make everything cohesive. Also moisture causes this and with all the rain STL has had and the heat and sweat of tiny humans playing has probably made the space very humid. I would suggest also buying a dehumidifier.

I work for a general contractor and we use this type of base all the time. It is rubber cove base and they sell an adhesive that you buy that you use for them. You are probably going to have to scrape the old died adhesive off before applying new

They are just peel and stick. Definitely a humidity things. Maybe keep the a/c running when it get warm. You can probably glue it.

You can use liquid nails to fix this BUT definitely a humidity issue definitely get a dehumidifier going especially in the basement. High humidity will cause mold!

Humidity. You’ll need to just tack it back down and when it’s really rainy there run dehumidifiers.

Not baseboards. That’s Cove Base. They are applied with water-resistant, moisture-curing contact adhesive (like a polyurethane-based or two-part epoxy adhesive). I work in flooring as a reference.

Ok so my company installs base and it’s super easy to fix! There is base glue at home depo and you just need a caulk gun to put it on. You can dm me and I can walk you through it if you need it but you’ve got this!!

you can definitely do this yourself. you have options. you can reuse them, if it's salvageable. otherwise look for something that suits your vision.
