I had to get a tooth pulled. Told him the day several times and asked if I needed a ride home. He said “you’ll be fine.” Never said anymore. The day of he had no clue I was getting it pulled, never said a word. When I got home, he told me his not saying anything was because I didn’t remind him and “that’s on you” and got irate when I told him it was NOT my job to remind him about important things in my life because I never forget about his important events

Is this because of self absorption? Are they just not interested in us? Maybe don't love us? And how is this fixed/managed? I lived this also. There were times I would just stop talking mid sentence because I knew he wasn't listening.

I stopped offering information and carrying conversations. He will not talk to me, like he says nothing we just sit in silence unless I ask him something and then it’s a short reply. If I don’t take responsibility for holding conversation it doesn’t happen.
