I have a best friend. He’s someone I cherish dearly. But one thing I’ve come to notice is—like with other friends I have had in the past… it doesn’t feel like I’m his best friend. It feels more like our friendship is a transaction, that we only talk when it’s a convenience, instead of genuine interest… it’s a cycle I seem to face with most people I know.
