been a parent since I was 19 years old. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. raising my kids has been the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm turning 30 this year, I don't ever regret my kids but I wish I had been established first.

So true. I think because of the patriarchy, men believe they have something special about them (even when they don't). For example, always thinking they're right, thinking they're naturally protective when really they're scary etc. Patriarchy's brainwashing convinces men that just because they're men who exist they're the best in some way. They turn to the status of husband but because they never had to work for the status of "man" they think they don't have to work for husband either.

Yeah. That resonates. I was always loved more as an idea than a real human. As long as I played the part well, all was fine. But if I was a real human? All bets were off.

in my experience dating both, I have found that it is not gender-specific which people want to treat you as an accessory, or use you for access. finding somebody that wants a partnership is crucial
