streaming is better bc i only subscribe to one streaming service and so do all my friends, and then we all share accounts, so we all have all the streaming services for the price of one. and the one i offered was Dropout which is literally $5/month (for me, i think it’s more if you start now)

Nope. I subscribe to a singular service each month, watch all the content I want, cancel and move on to the next one. I pay about $60 a year for all the content I want to watch. FUCK cable.

For real, it’s such a scam. They hyped up streaming services in the beginning, like it was super helpful and innovative, and then once we were all hooked and cable was irrelevant, then they make streaming services almost impossible to obtain all of them, raising the price is so high and then trying to control who we can share our accounts with. I don’t want five different subscriptions for TV to come out of my account every month, wish we could just go back to the simple times, one payment and subscribed to extra channels if you would like 😭 I despise it

this is why i (a 2006 kid) tried my hardest and best to keep all of my physical media (vhs tapes, cds, dvds etc) bc i am SICKKKKKK of having to pay 30 dollars a month just to watch shit i dont even wanna watch😞💔

But with cable I can’t choose what I wanted to watch. I like being my own TV Guide. I think the mistake is not putting the streaming services in their place when we should have as soon as they raised prices and added commercials.

See, streamers when they first came out were an EXCELLENT alternative to cable. The problem is the 100000 streamers have become cable now 😭

To be fair... Cable still exists, has 20 min commercials for every 10 min of show not 2-5 min ads, and is about $100+/mo and you don't get to tailor your channels the way we remember. Streaming is not ideal but cable still exists and is awful!

YES. So far I have cancelled Paramount, Peacock and AMC. I’m done. Hulu and Netflix to go. Pretty sure we’re over $500 a month.

literally just canceled our cable because it was definitely more outrageous in price than all the streaming services but I agree that neither the cable or streaming services have what we actually wanted to watch lol
