So just a perspective… I’ve been in a relationship like this before (it was 2 LOOOONG years) and I entered that relationship similar to how dom was at the start of all the texts… calm , understanding, trying to be grounding but I’ll be honest the mental gymnastics literally WEAR YOU DOWN…. And unfortunately the dynamics can switch because when the other person who normally lashes out doesn’t anymore, it deregulates the relationship and you feel like “something” is coming… this is normally where the spiraling for the once rational person happens…. Just a thought, maybe her using the word “buddy” was a in relationship trigger… my ex did this with me with a few “normal” looking words but I knew if they were said or typed that I was in deep water!! And those words would send me into a mental spiral! Having now been out of that relationship for a decent time I can look back and see all of this… not saying he or she is right but just providing a new perspective as someone who’s been in this dynamic before…
