I just saw the movie last night! I hate him. Like in the bedroom scene when Nikki was asking him to kill her so she can be free. I don’t think he wants to acknowledge that he hurts the ones around him due to his negligence- like with the cat scene. And in the end, Nikki has to live with the trauma and consequences from his actions.

We all get that Bears, not the person you wanna be. Ian is.. I watched this movie in the perspective of Ian and the only thing I would do different is not go to Bear’s house after receiving my wish.. Ian was the architect and he gets the least amount of heat.

I haven’t seen the movie but with reference to the real life equivalent… I can see it must start with selfishness… is it then down to “the unexamined life”? Just not pausing to consider the consequences? Is it entitlement… wanting regardless of consequences? Or something else?
