@wildisleytattoo: My tattoos LOOK like there is no outline but it’s an illusion! I outline everything with a 0803 long taper round liner. (Basically a very small group of 3 needles) And I do this with various grey washes and black depending on the contrast needed. I also incorporate black whenever possible in my shadows or as a background. The underpainting I do this way helps uphold the structure of the tattoo. Additionally I make sure to keep my contrast high AND, most importantly, inform my clients on the importance of sun protection for color tattoos.
