Lived in both. I loved my job in Singapore, I loved the people I worked with too. I don’t love my job so much in London, and wfh makes it so that it’s difficult to create non-work rapport with colleagues. Even with the taxes in London, I’d choose to be here 10/10. My life outside work is so much more full here than it was in Singapore.

I’m in an LDR too with my partner and recently went to visit him in Oxford early spring. I fell head over heels with Oxford that I cancelled my flight and extended my stay for another month. Also spent an extra £400 but it was worth it. During that time I actually fell in love with reading (because of all the beautiful book stores in Oxford), and I’ve taken that hobby back to Singapore. I love Singapore too, it’s a comfortable country to be in, and I can stick to my routines, but it makes me wonder if I’m constantly stuck in my comfort zone living in Singapore. (Also, what in particular did you have to do so you could live in London on such short notice?)
