@kayinrecovery: Watching this video now is emotional for me because it captures the reality of addiction and unconditional love at the same time. At this point in my life, I was deeply lost in addiction. I was in and out of jail, overdosing, living in motels, hurting myself and everyone around me. But my dad never stopped showing up for me. No matter how exhausted he was from working two jobs every single day, he still answered my calls, picked me up, and reminded me I was loved even when I gave him every reason not to. People see addiction from the outside and think there’s nothing left in a person anymore. But there was still a part of me in there fighting for my life. Even when I looked completely gone, I knew deep down I wanted more than the life I was living. Now, I get to look back at this video from the other side of recovery and realize how much love surrounded me, even in my darkest moments. Despite everything my addiction put me through, I made it out and built a life I never thought was possible. And somehow, the girl living in motels, overdosing, getting arrested, and believing she would never escape addiction… did. Recovery didn’t just change my life, it gave me one. A real one. One filled with peace, purpose, and hope. Recovery is possible. Never let addiction convince you that you’re too far gone. #recovery #addiction #sober #awareness #fyp
