Honestly for any type of bug/insect these are fine. I was worried u were talking about mammals. Cause it is super inhumane for things like rats/mice and it’s better to use the traps that kill them. On another note, if I found a brown recluse in my house I’d move 😭

dealing with brown recluse problem right now… how did you get over your fear? i still freak out picking up a trap, and have a TOTAL freak out when they aren’t in a trap. is it just your mom super powers?

When we moved to Texas we had a rat in our rental (we had never seen or dealt with a rat before only small mice) I was putting down sticky traps to attempt to trap it and it would run off with them and get itself off of them and return (I swear this rat was afraid of NOTHING I’d always catch it attempting to get into our dog food) I finally had enough spending money on sticky traps and had to get a killer rat trap and finally got it. Was it cruel possibly but ain’t no fucking waaaaaaaay I was allowing it to stay in my house 😭

I live in cheyenne Wyoming, where you'd think there's no brown recluses, and you would be wrong. Our apartment lost heat some random night mid January so we all (me, my fiance, and our baby) snuggled up and slept in the living room with a space heater. Well I woke up the next morning with this huge ugly blister that was just filling with liquid. We get to the er where we wait like 14 hours to see if the bite is going to get better or worse ( not allowed to eat or drink btw). Only for them to reveal there's no anti venom in america and they were just waiting to see if it was a live threatening situation. it was not. swelling went down over the course of idk 2 days? there was a giant red mark on my arm for about 2 weeks then it left a cute scar

why? generally speaking brown recluse tend to be where people aren't. I mean it's in the name recluse. is it possible that you're confusing the common wolf spider with a brown recluse?

I’m pro sticky trap. Where I was living last had seasonal bugs. Felt like the hunger games clock. One season was brown recluse, then stink bugs, then silver fish, then fake lady bugs. I was SICK of it and got sticky traps and caulked our entire rental and bought cedar blocks and lots of essential oils and bug sprays. It helped. Had to be careful around my cat tho. Had to stop using traps when I got a new kitten. He got stuck in them a few times. I only had them in spots my og cat couldn’t get to but the baby is a menace and kept finding them. Olive oil removes the stick if this happens to you. Don’t just try to rip it off someone/a pet.

My grandmother was bitten by one. That woman survived a massive stroke, an aortic dissection, open heart surgery, cancer and literally never complained BUT that spider bite??? she literally begged for them to remove her leg. keep the glue traps. matter of fact I need some.

I was bit THREE TIMES when I moved to Alabama for college- 5 years later I still have a literal chunk of skin missing from the back of my leg from one of those bites! 🥲 screw those spiders!!!

yall would hate me but my old apartment was so bad with mice so I tried snap traps (they never went for them) but oh boy they went for the sticky traps, sorry but I wasn’t asking for 10 roommates

People saying that the spider it’s fine to do this, but not mice/rats. Those aren’t quite as bad as the brown recluse, but they can be carrying lord knows what diseases. They use the bathroom EVERYWHERE, and there’s so many cases of them literally biting people while they sleep. You could never convince me that keeping my home safe from mice and rats would be cruel
