chris :
I’m honestly not a big book person at all, so when people kept recommending The Censored Side of Reality by Dorian Hale to me, I didn’t think much of it at first. But then three completely different people mentioned it to me in the same week, and that felt too random to ignore. I finally decided to give it a chance, and somehow I ended up finishing it in two nights.
It’s hard to explain exactly what makes this book hit so differently. It’s not just something you read and forget about the next day. It’s one of those rare books that quietly stays in your mind after you close it. It makes you stop, think, question things, and look at life from a completely different perspective. Some parts genuinely made me pause and reread because they felt so real and personal.
What surprised me most was how connected I felt to it, even though I usually struggle to stay interested in books. It felt less like someone trying to “teach” you something and more like someone opening your eyes to things you never paid attention to before. The kind of book you randomly think about during the day after finishing it.
I can honestly see now why people pass this book around quietly instead of hyping it up everywhere online. It feels personal when someone recommends it to you, almost like they’re sharing something important. If you’ve been looking for a book that can actually make you reflect on yourself, life, and the world around you, I seriously recommend reading it. It might not change your life overnight, but it’ll definitely leave something with you long after you finish the last page.
