@traveling.pool.hustler: The best pool drill anyone can do to improve. No crazy setups. No difficult patterns. No trick shots. Just one straight-in shot. Sounds too simple… until you realize how many players can’t deliver the cue straight consistently. This drill is broken into 3 phases: - Stop shots - Follow shots - Draw shots That’s it. Set up a straight-in shot and repeat it over and over with complete focus on: - A smooth stroke - Delivering the cue straight - Staying down - Hitting the cue ball exactly where intended The stop shot teaches pure cue ball control and exposes whether you’re truly striking center ball. If the cue ball drifts left or right after contact, your stroke isn’t as straight as you think. Then move to follow shots. Same straight shot — but now focus on rolling the cue ball forward smoothly without forcing it. Most players jab at follow shots instead of accelerating cleanly through the cue ball. Then comes draw. This is where flaws REALLY show up. If your tip placement, timing, or stroke delivery is inconsistent, the cue ball tells on you immediately. The goal isn’t to hit the ball hard. The goal is effortless accuracy. A smooth draw shot is far more valuable than a violent one. What makes this drill so powerful is that it builds the foundation for EVERYTHING in pool. Great cue ball control starts with a great stroke. Not fancy systems. Not complicated drills. Not endless youtube tips. Just the ability to deliver the cue exactly where you want, over and over again under pressure. Most players avoid simple drills because they aren’t entertaining. But the players who improve the fastest almost always spend time mastering the basics. This drill will humble you… and improve you fast if you stick with it. #fyp #billiards #pooldrills
