@thejenndrummond: May 31, 2021. I stood on the summit of Mount Everest. 29,032 feet. The highest point on earth. A day I will remember for the rest of my life. I remember exactly what the sky looked like. The color of the light. The silence that isn’t really silence, it’s wind and breath and the sound of your own heartbeat telling you that you made it. You don’t forget days like that. And lately I’ve been thinking… What if that’s the whole point? Not the summit specifically. But the feeling of it. The aliveness of it. The way certain days just burn themselves into you permanently, and you know - even in the moment - that you will carry this one forever. I have a handful of days like that. December 18, 2018 - the car accident that almost ended everything. May 31, 2021 - the top of the world. They’re on my calendar forever. How many days like that do you have?
