go out and meet people. dog walking, dog parks, skate parks, skate rinks, pottery class, cat cafe, paint and sip, dive bar, wine tours, farmers market. become a regular at a cafe, sandwich shop, ice cream place etc. put yourself in the same spot again and again and again and again and I swear people will remember you and talk to you. I like the farmers market bc they're out there every single Saturday, rain or shine, so I show up, rain or shine, and I talk to them and ask about how they make things and if they have a favorite and omg the weather is crazy today and I hope tomorrow is nicer and how's your son, he doing ok? you have to give just as much as you wanna take. please just try
