Can you make an simple elevator but you know with piston and stuff I need something really simple but not water and stuff

I made a much simpler version. 2 switches one at the bottom one at the top going to a piston to slide the sand/magma left/right and used vertical observers to streamline sending the signal super clean. no need for redelivery of water etc

The magma block is as slow as a ladder. Instead, just put powdered snow underneath a carpet. Then you can fall down at free fall speed and suffer no fall damage.
