My dermatologist picks the ones that she thinks need biopsied but if there is something that I think needs biopsied, she does it just for peace of mind.

I had a spot biopsied and it was nothing. Same spot 18 months later and it was Basal cell carcinoma. Sometimes it takes time to become cancer. I had Mohs on my face. Followed by restructure by plastic surgeon. The important thing is yearly appointment with dermatologist

Yep! I just went through this. 12 years of being told it was nothing and laser it off. Turned out to melanoma. Mohs surgery and full facial reconstruction 6 months ago. Scars all over my face 😢

I work in a derm clinic and this is super unusual. Did they look at it with their dermatoscope? What kind of skin cancer did it come back as?

It may have not been cancer at first it takes time to develop so it doesn’t mean the first doctor was wrong
