Next episode you should clean out your soffit intakes around your home. I’m a Roofer in the KC area lol. Depending on the type of soffit vents homeowners should be cleaning them every 3-4 years!

I pay $200 to have my furnace serviced, ac cleaned/serviced, and my water heater drained. I could have done most of it myself, but peace of mind that the most expensive parts of my home are working at their best is absolutely worth $200.

I looked at my husband and said oh no we’ve never cleaned ours! And he looked at me and said, “I clean ours every year…”

I feel like this is something an HOA should take care of since they charge so much

I cleaned mine after 4 years and our electric bill went from $200+ to less than $100. It’ll definitely motivate you to keep it clean

if you have a wet vac it's also worth hooking it up to your HVAC drain line (the uncapped PVC pipe that drips out the house) and suck it out. most systems don't use copper coils anymore so it makes bacterial and algae growth more common.

another fun fact, dont touch those fins that your cleaning out cuz you'll bend the metal and make it less efficient. Just had to say that cuz I saw you leaning on it at the end haha

as an hvac tech you did everything right but i would recommend to use an impact drill instead of a hammer drill so you don’t strip the screws out. if the metal vibrates enough it can rub on the coils over time and cause a refrigerant leak
