it doesn't end. I struggled with fertility so when I had kids I became overbearing anyways but I would have nightmares that they would stop breathing in their sleep. more often than not I slept on a couch in my twins room. my youngest I had to have her sleep next to my bed so I could have my hand on her all night to make sure she was breathing. my 22yr olds have to check in with me multiple times a day. my daughter just took vacation to cali and she had to FaceTime me twice a day to make sure she wasn't kidnapped. my now 12yr slept with me until she was 8 and I still wake up regularly and check on her because of my nightmares
