The fact that she was alive during Richard lll, henry 7 and later on henry 8 and had seen and known so many historical figures is just amazing

I once read a book and I cannot remember the title of it but it was the genders being reversed and women were and had always been the dominant sex throughout history.Fascinating and strange because it reminded me of of a Handsmaid tale-Stepford wives kind of society. The men wore feminine clothes and were meek and the women wore pants and were the absolute authority.Total role reversal but the difference was us females were in fact the same temperament and the "gentler kind" sex just like we are throughout history.Anyway that is until the men revolted and tried to topple the female hierarchy.Did not work but the reprisals were horrendous and brutal.Punishments just as brutal as the history books tell us Kings would mete out.The difference was punishment by death only occurred with 100% proof of guilt by the individual who was accused and not because they just happened to belong to a certain family or group. In other words Margaret Pole would have lived to a ripe old natural age,Queen Anne would have still had her head as would Lady Jane Grey who never belonged on the throne to begin with because she was a pawn.Catherine Howard in my opinion was probably promiscuous but was she actually unfaithful to Henry himself? Not sure about her.I don't believe someone's past should be held against them and quite honestly these royal marriages were not truly the love story marriage should be.And it's because the female race is more sensible, reasonable etc etc which was the whole premise of that bloody book I can't remember the name of.

Actually, a little misconception here Henry never felt threatened by her bloodline. Margaret actually enjoyed a good company with Henry. What truly start ending was her refusal to accept him as the supreme head of the church and the great matter when she supported Catherine over Anne .

Ugh 💀 How did H8's executions, especially of women, compare to those who came before and after him?
