He was the red herring of the narrative, the fake synthesys, the main character started off lonely and through conventional story telling, that would be resolved through a love interest, but in Boosters the point was class solidarity and community which made it way more satisfying

I loved that Corvette got a moment of character growth by not choosing to engage with him. He has that magnetic hypnotizing trick that works on her feeling of disconnection, by not choosing him and seeing his effect we see her vulnerability and her growth!
