@henryfudgeofficial: Wages broke from the trend in 1997. The migration spike arrived 24 years later. Whatever caused this, it wasn’t migration. It’s often touted as the answer to the UKs problems, it just isn’t. It’s the Rentier black hole. The best irony of it, is that the man telling you it’s migrants is the guy who made millions owning the house you should have had and renting it back to you. You can’t make it up. #immigration #ukeconomy #economics #costofliving #politics
You made the mistake of presuming the people who talk about this will watch this video

Yes but why should I believe anything this award winning economist who backs up his analysis with facts and reputable sources says about our economy?

I think people are more concerned on a social aspect rather then an economical one when it comes to immigration. However I get this video is purely on the numbers and is a good eye opener for the people who do think it’s effecting them economically

would you say that immigration is the most "over indexed" political topic? as in the one most talked about for the least actual impact. what's the lowest? property tax?

I wouldn’t take Germany as an example. We have stagnating wages as well. Germany has primarily taken an advantage of a comparable weak euro, making German products comparable cheap while having a high quality standard. This has massively boosted our export capacities and if your exports are cars and machines you can make a lot money. That is why we are so vulnerable to Chinese cheap exports - they are taking „our“ markets by sweeping the world with cheap machines.
