I have not been in a school pick up line since mine were 5th graders (they are going to be college juniors), but wtf! I would get there a few minutes early, and have them in my car in 10 minutes from dismissal. What is going on?

I think as a Canadian I don't get this because our schools are usually a series of smaller schools where you can only go to the school in your catchment area. I think American schools are significantly larger?

Lol I’m so confused by this concept! I picked up my niece and nephew today at school (ends at 3), I arrived at 2:55, parked in the lot, walked into the yard to get them and had them back home at 3:10

As a Canadian I don’t understand this. You guys need to wait in a pick up line with your car? We don’t have that, we need to park somewhere and walk up to the yard gate to pick up.

I’m an elementary teacher in Canada and my school has about 850 students (considered large) and we don’t have this issue… what happened to walking and taking the school bus?

I have 2 kids I pick up at different times . For my one son I’m technically at his school 1.5 hours early but it’s only because I have to pick up my other one who gets out 45 min earlier .
