is it smart to wear something nice in your slate and then wear the outfit the character would wear in the actual audition if you are doing a self tape?

I saw a girl post her audition for 911 I think it was network TV show she wore a police uniform top almost a professional one with a fake police radio on her shoulder and she used it, it looked amazing and she booked it. I’ve seen that a few times with cop outfits, not saying that the outfit booked the job but it probably helps the actor get more into character so there is the advantage of that for certain roles if it helps you get into character and get you grounded then I think it’s good to do it if you have it on hand or you can afford to have different costumes in your wardrobe.

I ride a motorcycle almost daily, armored jacket and helmet i can leave outside the room but generally im gonna smell like gas and exhaust and wearing combat boots & jeans. With my hand and arm tattoos i look intimidating but im meek as a mouse and very friendly. What should i do? Clean up beforehand? Have a change of clothes and shower at a planet fitness?
