This & the Dutch national anthem… in one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. But Mexico you disappointed me so damn much. 😢🇲🇽 Goosebumps for the incredible Estadio BBVA, with the mountains rising behind it, and the flags of the Netherlands and Morocco on the pitch. Moments like these are exactly why I keep traveling to every World Cup. I paid a crazy amount for this ticket, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Representing my country at the biggest football tournament in the world is something I’ll remember forever. The result? Definitely not the one I was hoping for. And I have to admit, after last night I left with mixed feelings about Monterrey… The amount of Dutch hate I experienced from 99% of the Mexican fans surprised me. More than a decade later, people are still crying about the 2014 penalty: “No era penal” and cheering against the Netherlands with real passion. Football memories clearly live on here, but so will mine… That said, credit where it’s due: the Monterrey stadium is absolutely spectacular. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful FIFA World Cup 2026 venues I’ve ever visited, and an experience I’ll never forget. ❤️🇳🇱🦁🧡 #dutchie #worldcup2026 #monterrey
