Bungie’s problem was that it didn’t make Destiny 3 after Final Shape. That’s where it should have stopped and they should have picked up a new storyline within a new game. But they tried to milk the cow and couldn’t retain a player base.

man Marathon has such a sick aesthetic and vibe. it's a tragedy they stuck all that style in one of the least accessible genre niches ever. idk why studios were so confident that Extraction would be the next BR especially when ARC basically already captured the entire "casual extraction" market

Now hear me out. We make them do Destiny 3, but with a little inspiration from what IOI Interactive did with Hitman 3. Basically, Destiny 3 comes out with a stellar, amazing, epic campaign. That is, in fact, a fantastic, beautiful, stellar sequel to the first two games. But we also have them release every single, story campaign from the first two games, and we don't call it Destiny 3. We call it World of Destiny. All of the campaigns are brought over to the new engine, prettied up and optimised and compressed so that it's not a giant bloated save file. Also, we just have all of the multiplayer content in the game as well, but as a separate download where you can pick and choose what you want to have as part of the save file, so that the game doesn't take up too much space?

the whole reason destiny went downhill is marathon btw. development started in 2019... the release of shadowkeep... then beyong light came out. sure it was a good dlc, but it took more than it gave. witchqueen was also good, but short-lived. then lightfall... LIGHTFALL!!! then they pulled a forsaken and gave us the final shape. then they gave us the last year of slop... and now they're running away

How many times does Sony need to fail before they learn. Sony the company that’s been dying for a long term live service game. They finally get that and they shoot it in the head for marathon. A game in an over saturated market that literally no one asked for. Sony just support destiny and watch the fans support it. 250k signatures in 4-5 days that’s not even considered the casual fans that might come back with destiny 3
