Living next to Lake Michigan I’ve only fully submerged/swam in it for a long period of time twice in my life. Once as a kid and the second time a few years ago. It’s just so COLD, both days I only went in as far as I did bc it was like 90+ degrees out 😭

Hawaiian here! Went to PNW for college and went to a lake with a couple friends. It shocked me just how easily I could sink and how cold it was in 90+ degree weather. If that’s just a small take of what the Great Lakes are??? I’ll stick to my beaches

I live in Milwaukee and Lake Michigan will sweep you away. and just because its warm outside, doesn't mean the water is. it takes the Lake longer to warm up from the harsh winter

Agreed💯! Mind you, the Great Lakes are not normal lakes. They are the biggest freshwater lakes in the entire world. They are literally freshwater inland seas. They are like deadly micro oceans.
