its a norm and absolute standard here that you come at least 5 minutes before the opera starts. it would be disturbing for others including singers if they let u in when u late

You might think “oh only 4 min, that’s so strict” but you’re not supposed to show up at 6:58 for a 7pm performance either, you need time to get ticketed, hatcheck, getting your seat etc and you have to arrive ahead of time for that.

This is excellent. I skipped a whole opera before because we couldn’t find parking and we would’ve had to have clomped across a wooden floor. We could’ve taken seats in intermission!
