My experience on icelandic buses vary drastically the buses are very inconsistent they either have a screen with audio or only a screen or only audio or nothing at all

Im not sure but i think with the app after u buy 3 tickets the rest are free for the day but idk whos buying more then 3 a day

people saying the bus system is awful either haven't gone here or woke up on the wrong side of the bed. It's normal for buses to be late sometimes because traffic exists, and the Klappið thing is fine. Bus drivers normally just tell you to sit down if your Klapp doesn't work. Ive had instances where my shaky handedness made it impossible for the payment to go through, and the driver just signalled for me to go sit. It really doesn't matter. The system is very reliable and doesn't randomly change routes without some type of announcement.

i feel like the bus drivers rarely care if you pay or not. if something comes up or if im taking a while to get my ticket they just tell me to sit down

Oh yeah they drive off quickly especially if they are late... which is a lot. Sometimes the payment terminals are broken and they just wave you on for free. That looks like one of the newer ones with the fancy screens, the ones around here are older and rattle pretty bad 😂

I’ve stayed at the hotel opposite the Perlan Museum. It was right next to the domestic airport of Reykjavik. I miss it terribly! Hoping to go back next year 🥰

finally sold my car when i could google/apple maps the real-time schedule And pay with apple pay. that was like a year or two ago. until then you had to use the Krapp (Klapp) app which Sux. but tbh i'm fine with bussing here now - i walk more, buy less, and usually have a decent experience
