@healthier_lb_loading: Hey hey hey! Time for Bari Bestie Content!!!! Give me your tips and trips to make the most of the “post surgery honeymoon phase” #motivation #baribesties #journeytoahealthierme #chooseyourself #mealprep
Between week 3 and 5 I had a stall and was terrified I was failing despite doing everything by the book. It’s normal and weight loss slows while you heal. Don’t let it drive you insane like I did. Focus on protein, water, and moving your body.

For me in the honeymoon phase, get in all the protein with as low calories 800 and getting over 5 miles in (7 now ) enjoy the process and don’t over complicate it. You will get burnt out. Have a moment of not as clean day to help. Eat the same things if possible or a routine. It really does help for me any way. I’m 9 months out of my bypass and 170 pounds down and still going. You got this!!

Stick to the program. Don’t let questionable foods slip in too early. Protein, water, fiber and move your body. I’m 24 yrs out from gastric bypass:) good luck!

weigh and track everything! it's going to be a huge shock to your brain going from the portions you're used to now to what's about to become your new normal. also make sure you're hitting your protein goals as soon and as often as possible!

Set yourself the tiniest goals that have nothing to do with the scale.
Maybe it’s focusing on getting more protein from whole foods. Maybe it’s hitting your water goals. Maybe it’s adding one or two 15-minute walks into your day.
Those small changes are what slowly build healthy habits over time. Because this journey isn’t just about becoming slimmer, it’s about creating a healthier relationship with food, movement, and self-care.

One thing I regret not doing is measuring before and along the way. And that I did not save a pair of my “fat pants “.

Complete honesty, it was so hard for me personally to make routines because things changed so much. I had the Duodenal Switch 3/13/26, and I think the best advice I would be able to give to make anything a routine is to be patient with yourself. Make sure you listen to your body, and learn your cues. I'm almost 3 months out and can now tell exactly what I need, when I need it.
