If your mortgage rate is lower than the return you’re getting on investments, even though a monthly payment seems scary in retirement, it may make more sense (and money) to keep the house payment.

I’m 53, husband is 59. He retired last month and I just quit my job! So excited and terrified at the same time! Financially we are ok, but worried if I will be bored or loose myself, will I have purpose!

Well done... Being debt free and living below your means are the absolute keys to early retirement.

Paid ours off on this day in 2019! My goal is to retire at 55 (I’m currently 48) so saving is the name of the game for us. Can’t wait for your chats!

Just retired at 60. Lived way below my means, so now I can enjoy myself. My mom started talking to me about saving for retirement when I was 8 years old.

Yes!!! For me 55 was early also. I worked construction and took so much OT I paid off the house I bought in 18 months. I then made sure I maxed out every retirement plan I had and still saved. Between that and two pensions my only very small regret is not retiring at 50. I love retirement!

I retired at 43 with a paid off home. I realize peace of mind with living debt free and more family time is more important than a paycheck and title. Cheers!
