As someone with severe social anxiety taking the smallest wins such as going a cashier instead of self checkout has made me slowly more comfortable, appreciate the small things i know feel comfortable going to cashiers when before i would just not go to a store at all!

I still struggle with the mentality that my current age (about to be 21) is too late to work on my social skills. Are there any meaningful or productive ways I could work around this mindset?

do you have some tips to look at the eyes? cause i try to be friendly but either i don't look at all at the face or too much, and i don't know if it comes out as creepy, for example i don't know if waiters feel bad when i answer them without looking at them :(

talk to the barista in a coffee shop, and ask them about thier day, and be semi interested in thier answer. it doesnt need to be more than a brief thing. and thank the people who are being paid to help you, they appreciate it and it makes talking to people generally easier

I completely screwed up an interaction I had with a cashier just today, she was so nice and asked me about my day and complimented my hair cause it’s purple (this had never happened before) and I just completely froze, so embarrassing 🥲
