Gavin Newsom (D) said he hopes the state legislature will pass legislation to tax 100% of any California resident's proceeds from the Justice Department's $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" fund.   "Anyone from California that receives any of those funds, we want to tax 100% of those proceeds," Gov. Newsom said at a press conference Wednesday. "That's an action the State of California can take. It's an action we look forward to taking."   The governor, like many Democrats and some Republican lawmakers, referred to the pot of money as a "slush fund."
