Ebola is nearing one-thousand cases in Africa with multiple Americans exposed to the disease. The U.S. response has been hindered by Trump’s public health cuts, the CDC losing 30% of their workforce, and Trump’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) which has eliminated normalized communication between the U.S. and the rest of the world regarding infectious diseases. Not only do U.S. officials receive slower reports, but Trump actually barred them from speaking to WHO officials about Ebola.
