While I wouldn’t, honestly a box of unlabelled food in a communal fridge may have made someone think it’s extras. If you label it and then they take it, that’s def not cool

Did you say the box was empty but still in the freezer? I agree with you on everything else but no one should leave an empty box.

Well I feel it’s inconsiderate to take up a bunch of space with things you’re not going to eat right away.

it’s odd behavior because I would never take something that isn’t mine or I was specifically told “this was brought by so and so and is free for grabs.”

Does matter their situation, leaving the empty box is just plain rude.

My husband always keeps bread peanut butter and jelly in his break room (along with water and other snacks) so people will always have food. But he’s the boss and pays for it through company funds.

Don’t feel guilty. It’s important for people to learn to ask before taking things that aren’t theirs

I feel like anything not in a lunch bag/brown paper bag is just up for grabs. At least that’s how it is at my job cause so many people are always bringing things in to share

Was your name on the box? If so, you don't need to feel guilty. They could have asked.

Omg similar thing happened to me just yesterday ! I had two bags of snacks and I was off ONE DAY, came back to find both bags gone so I asked and they said someone ate it. I was pissed and ready to cuss everything out specially being on my period lol but today I felt bad for even getting mad🤣

When I worked in an office, unless it had my name on it, I EXPECTED people to take it. I would intentionally buy things to share. Should they have asked around? Probably, but also if a big box like that was sitting in the fridge and it didn’t look like anyone was eating it, I would probably assume it’s for everyone too. Tbh I vote shrug it off and get a box to share… maybe set aside a few with your name on them specifically
