I went to the ER with pain in the chest and radiating down the left arm. I kept telling the nurses “I’m going to feel so stupid if this is nothing.” And after the 3rd time, this kind nurse said “girl, it will be the joy of my night if this is nothing. We WANT you to come in for chest pain! Never apologize!” I want to clone her. 🥹

I, a woman, was sent home from the ER 2x’s before someone finally ran a troponin test and saw I was, in fact, having a heart attack. They said it was gastritis, then an abdominal migraine. Third time a different doctor suggested we run some labs!

My grandfather died at the age of 32 from a widowmaker. My mother was only 9 at the time. He had a heart attack previous to the big one but the doctors insisted that a man at the age of 32 couldn't have a heart attack. Because of those doctors my mom grew up without her dad and I never got to meet my grandpa. Medical gaslighting is unintentionally taught and has to be unlearned for a doctor to be good at their job

i had a doctor try to say i had an ovarian cyst even though i had no history of it and wanted to send me home without imaging. i insisted on having a CT scan. turns out i was right and it was appendicitis.

i went to the ER with a heart rate in the 20s, hypotensive, hypothermic, and was told i had a “thought disorder” and needed to stop watching my heart rate on my apple watch. they let me get sicker and sicker and now i am in heart failure at 25 because they didn’t believe me before it got so bad.

Off topic but I’m a former Cath lab nurse and HOLY HELL for him to have those blockages at 33. Does he have a strong familial history of heart disease? So glad you guys advocated for him and that he got the treatment he needed! ❤️

i had 2 EKGs saying I'd had a heart attack, as the triage nurse was taking my blood pressure which was 275/≈150. he said I'm too young to have that (I'm 46)

So it's literally taught in bare minimum medical law and ethics classes that "if its not in the chart it didnt happen" so please always make sure you see what they put in your chart and request copies if they're not listening to you, because its your legal right ♥️

I am convinced I have ADHD and/or Autism, but after my last evaluation, I was told I didn't and that it was my CPTSD. CPTSD doesn't explain my sensory issues. I feel like I've lost hope in trying to get a diagnosis even though I truly feel like ADHD medication will change my life

As a paramedic I always say “it’s better to call and not need me, than not call and need me.” I’ve had patients who present with mild cardiac symptoms or with obvious cardiac symptoms but nothing on the ECG or ‘non-diagnostic ST elevation’ with no reciprocal changes but they have multiple blockages. We need to listen to our patients and treat more than just the monitor.

I went to the er because i felt sudden impending doom, ive never suffered from anxiety so it was extremely alarming to me. So i went to the er and told the dr i thought i was having a heart attack because i was having shortness of breath they dismissed me cause i was 26 and i insisted long story short a d dimer and ct pointed to A PULMONARY EMBOLISM
