This is why I’ve lost respect for some law enforcement officers. Wearing a badge doesn’t put anyone above the law—it comes with the responsibility to uphold it. The job is to protect and serve the public, and that accountability should apply to everyone, including those in uniform. That’s why I have a lot of respect for the deputy who was willing to pull over another officer. It takes integrity to hold your own accountable, and that’s exactly what builds trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. I know there are many good officers out there who do their jobs with honesty and dedication, but the ones who abuse their authority make it harder for the public to have confidence in the badge.
