We speak most of the time. I remember when we were at Crystal Palace, we argued one time because I was about to leave but he told me he wanted to stay in England, close to his family. We never imagined Arsenal would come for him. We thought maybe Pep Guardiola and Manchester City would call, but I supported his decision to join Arsenal even though I joked with him saying “there are no trophies there” (laughs). Deep down, I believed he would be part of the change. Maybe we could have played together in the Champions League final (laughs), but unfortunately not. Still, I’m really happy for him winning the Premier League.
