Daylilies are amongst the most popular perennials in the country. Maybe it's just you? 🤔

You prob should have clarified that you were talking specifically about ditch lilies. You would have had more commiseration in your comments.

My parents front yard has been infested with crab weed for as long as I can remember. We’ve tried just about everything to get rid of it and it’s still there.

Lady, I inherited mint. MINT. And invasive ferns. I’d love some day lilies.

I’d rather have day lilies than weeds.

They way I would be separating those, potting dozens and dozens, and selling for $10-$20 per plastic pot, and then taking my lily-funded vacation.

I don’t think daylilies are invasive though. I planted some in my yard about 10 or 15 years ago and they’re still there in the same spot and have not spread. Maybe your previous homeowner planted these everywhere.

I bought a house where the former owner planted day lilies, English ivy and bamboo. 25 years later and I’m still fighting the good fight.

Same with bluebells like yea they’re pretty but after they pass the leaves will still grow and when you try to get rid of them it would be impossible even if you pull or dig them out

They are edible. The tubers are a starch like little potatoes, the unopened buds are like little green beans— eat raw, cut into salads, or stir fry. The spent blooms are great breaded and deep fried. Many were planted as survival foods.

The people in the comments have never had this problem LOL they look like weeds for 80% of the year. Impossible to get rid of when you’re trying to landscape. It’s so frustrating. Sending positive vibes and high powered vegetation killer your way lol
