I live in Virginia, when i do brakes on older vehicles caliper bracket where the hardware sits is always rusty so i spray Pb Blaster on where the hardware sits on the caliper and use my wire wheel. I lube the ears of the pads, and under the hardware

Those Adaptive One brake pads are marked inner and outer pad because the friction material formulation on the inner pad is different from the outer pad.

Great stuff as usual. Always will be controversy over lubing the slots where the ears slide as you stated. Brake sets are suppose to have regular clean and servicing between replacement. Does everyone get it done, no. Would it prevent sticking from dirt in the lube, absolutely.

I basically do brakes the same way you do, only difference is I use a red roloc disk on the hubs
