By law he has to show receipt to law enforcement. Walmart employees have no right to see the receipt.

CostCo has a membership policy for them to check receipts on the way out. WalMart does not. You have no legal obligation to show a receipt.

I can’t believe this receipt issue is still a debate. (Fact) You do not have to provide a receipt when leaving the store. It’s just a courtesy if you do….. now if you shop at Sam’s Club or Costco, where you pay for a membership. Then yes, as part of your membership agreement you have to provide a receipt when leaving the store.

walmart policy allows them to do random checks if you have something not in a bag. but, there policy also says they can not detain you for not showing it. and police are not paid to enforce store policy. the officer can only arrest they guy for shop lifting. and when he produces a receipt in court, then case will be thrown out. and walmart will then be open for a law suite. walmart created this issue with self check out to help cut cost. solution, do away woth self check out.

it is against the law for them to stop you and check your receipt they've got a cashier that has got a monitor that shows everything being checked the cash registers have cameras on it so the police should stay away from Walmart on that situation they just make it worse

once you pay for your items they are yours. you don't have a contract with Walmart so they have no right to ask for a receipt like Costco or Sam's..
